Infliximab (trade names Remicade among others) is a chimeric monoclonal antibody biologic drug that works against tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α) and is used to treat autoimmune diseases.

REMICADE is a tumor necrosis factor (TNF) blocker indicated for:

Crohn’s Disease:

Remicade (Infliximab) reduces signs and symptoms and induces and maintains clinical remission in adult patients with moderately to severely active disease who have had an inadequate response to conventional therapy.
Remicade (Infliximab) reduces the number of draining enterocutaneous and rectovaginal fistulas and maintains fistula closure in adult patients with fistulizing disease.

Pediatric Crohn’s Disease:

Remicade (Infliximab) reducies signs and symptoms and induces and maintains clinical remission in pediatric patients with moderately to severely active disease who have had an inadequate response to conventional therapy.

Ulcerative Colitis:

Remicade (Infliximab) reduces signs and symptoms, induces and maintains clinical remission and mucosal healing, and eliminates corticosteroid use in adult patients with moderately to severely active disease who have had an inadequate response to conventional therapy.

Pediatric Ulcerative Colitis:

Remicade (Infliximab) reduces signs and symptoms and induces and maintains clinical remission in pediatric patients with moderately to severely active disease who have had an inadequate response to conventional therapy.

Rheumatoid Arthritis in combination with methotrexate:

Remicade (Infliximab) reduces signs and symptoms, inhibiting the progression of structural damage, and improves physical function in patients with moderately to severely active disease.

Ankylosing Spondylitis :

Remicade (Infliximab) reduces signs and symptoms in patients with active disease.

Psoriatic Arthritis :

Remicade (Infliximab) reduces signs and symptoms of active arthritis, inhibiting the progression of structural damage, and improves physical function.

Plaque Psoriasis :

Remicade (Infliximab) is used for treatment of adult patients with chronic severe (i.e., extensive and /or disabling) plaque psoriasis who are candidates for systemic therapy and when other systemic therapies are medically less appropriate.
